This is where the site begins to explain the meaning behind “A place to be understood.” Copy should communicate that therapy begins with getting to know the person in depth—not reducing someone to a diagnosis or a checklist of symptoms. Nathan’s style is genuine, authentic, relaxed, supportive, and collaborative. Therapy can explore current problems, longstanding patterns, relationships, how a person understands themselves and others, and ways of seeing life that may contribute to suffering.
Mindfulness, existential questions, and spirituality may be welcomed when meaningful to the client, but they should remain subtle rather than defining the practice.
People seek therapy for many different reasons. You may be dealing with a specific problem, a difficult period in your life, a pattern you cannot seem to change, or simply a sense that something is not quite right.
This list is not exhaustive. I work with a broad range of concerns appropriate for outpatient psychotherapy.
I have always been interested in what shapes us—why we struggle, how we make sense of ourselves and other people, and what allows meaningful change to occur. My work has taken me through a wide range of settings and experiences, including military service, teaching, residential and nursing-home care, college counseling, and private practice.
Those experiences have reinforced something simple: people are more complex than any diagnosis, technique, or theory. I try to bring clinical experience, curiosity, warmth, and honesty into the room with each person I meet.
The standard session fee is $190. Peaceful Psychology participates with selected insurance plans, and coverage varies by state, plan, deductible, copay, and coinsurance.
